WEST COAST SEEDS SQUASH BUTTERNUT TIANA ORGANIC

  • C. moschata. CERTIFIED ORGANIC! The fruits of Tiana Organic Butternut squash are uniform in size and shape, with the classic tan skin and intense dark orange interior colour.
  • Tiana is very early to mature and productive. Butternut squashes have such a rich flavour and they will keep for months in storage.
  • Tiana is perfect for the home gardener or market grower, producing some of the most handsome and smooth skinned butternuts we've seen.
  • It has a high resistance to powdery mildew and intermediate resistance to Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus.

    Growing Squash

  • Direct sow or transplant in late spring once the soil is warm. For transplants, start seeds indoors during the first two weeks of May. Optimal soil temperature: 25-35°C (77-95°F). Seeds should germinate in 7-14 days.


    Companion Planting For Squash

  • Companions: corn, lettuce, melons, peas, and radish. Borage is said to improve the growth and flavour of squash. Marigolds and nasturtium repel numerous squash pest insects.
  • Avoid planting squash near Brassicas or potatoes.
