Store Hours and Location

Do you still have locations in the south of Calgary?

Golden Acre only has one location in Calgary. We are located in north Calgary just off of Deerfoot Trail, just minutes away from downtown. You can find our exact location here.

Are you open late and on holidays?

We are open 7 days a week year-round. We are open most holidays. We are closed on December 25th, 26th and January 1st. Our hours vary seasonally. Please check here for more information.

When does the Treelot, Annuals, and Perennials Departments open?

Our Houseplants department is open year-round. Our other live goods departments are open mid spring (April) dependent on weather.

Does Golden Acre close in the winter?

No. We are open year-round. See here for more information on our store hours.

Is there an estimated time of arrival for spring bulbs and plants?

Typically, they start arriving in March. This is dependent on weather and supply.

Live Plants, Gift Cards & Products

Can I special order a specific plant?

While we cannot pre-order or special order plants we can take requests. If it possible we will bring it in, and can call you when it arrives. Please contact our Houseplant department for more information. Due to supplies and growing conditions, we are unable to determine what plants are coming in at any given time.

Do you offer discounts on bulk orders of plants?

Do you offer an in home service caring for houseplants?

For any houseplant care questions please contact our Houseplants department or reach out to us on social, or email info@goldenacre.ca. If possible please provide pictures of your plant concerns.

Does Golden Acre sell gift cards?

Yes we sell gift cards both in store and online. For more online gift cards click here. .

Can individuals purchase a gift card internationally?

Yes. Our Canadian and US customers can purchase an online gift card here.

Do you carry bulk?

Yes. We carry sod, firewood, soil, mulch and stone. We offer most of these both loose and in Big Bag (1 cubic yard). This is available for purchase instore and online. Bulk is seasonal from Spring until Fall. We sell bulk firewood online and in store year-round.

Does Golden Acre carry organic and eco-friendly green products?

We are proud to say that we have one of the largest selections of eco-friendly and organic products. We carry non-GMO seeds, heirloom seeds, organic soils, organic fertilizers, eco-friendly insect controls, humane animal controls, chemical free weed controls and pet-friendly products

Can I get my purchases delivered?

Yes. When you’re in store please talk to a sales representative they will be able to assist you.

Does Golden Acre offer planting services?

Yes. We offer a tree and shrub planting service. Please see our Treelot staff for more information.

General Frequently Asked Questions

What are your safety protocols for Covid?

Golden Acre is compliant with all AHS protocols. We have hand wash and sanitize stations throughout the store.

Can I bring my pet to Golden Acre?

Yes. Golden Acre is a fun destination for the entire family. Feel free to snap a picture and tag us on social media. We love to see your furry family members.

Do you have a Seniors Discount?

We offer a 15% Seniors Discount 7 days a week on most regular priced items for in-store purchases. In order to qualify you must be 65 years old and provide a piece of ID to the cashiers at the time of purchase.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Every department in the store is on one level with no stairs to navigate.

Do you have washrooms?

Yes, we have public washrooms.

Do you offer landscaping design consulting?

At this time Golden Acre is unable to do a landscape design.

Do you have a landscaper you could recommend?

We are not partnered with any landscaper or landscaping companies at this time.

Is Golden Acre taking phone orders?

We have spent years developing our online store to allow customers to shop from the comfort of their home. Unfortunately, we currently do not have a mechanism to process phone orders.
