PLANTS & NON-LIVE ITEMS (collectively referred to as “Merchandise”)
Golden Acre Garden Centre wants you to love every purchase you make. If your plans or preferences change, no problem—we’re here to help. Here’s how our Hassle-Free Return Policy works:
Eligibility for Return
- The original sales receipt must be presented at the time of return.
- Plants purchased may be returned within two (2) days from the date of purchase (or from the date of delivery).
- Non-live items purchased may be returned within thirty (30) days from the date of purchase (or from the date of delivery).
- Merchandise must be in its original condition, in their original packaging / container, and deemed resalable at Golden Acre’s discretion (for example: not dried out, showing signs of neglect, or damaged).
- A 25% restocking fee may apply to certain merchandise. Any applicable restocking fee will be communicated at the time of return.
- Claims for merchandise that is delivered damaged or missing must be made within 24 hours from the date of delivery.
Processing Returns
- Eligible returns will be refunded to the original form of payment (credit card, debit card, cash, or PayPal).
- Purchases made with a gift card or store credit will be refunded as store credit.
- Golden Acre reserves the right to request valid photo identification for any return transaction and require customers to complete a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Form. This information is used solely to verify the purchase, process the return, and help us improve our products and services.
- Golden Acre may, at its discretion, limit or refuse returns that do not meet these conditions or where there is suspicion of misuse or abuse of our return policy.
Merchandise Not Eligible for Return
The following merchandise are considered final sale and are not eligible for a return:
- Merchandise purchased with a discount of 25% or greater.
- Seasonal and/or holiday merchandise.
- Customized and/or special ordered merchandise.
- Predator Bugs
- Gift cards.
How to Return Merchandise
- Please bring the merchandise to our in-store Customer Service Desk along with the original sales receipt for prompt processing.
- If the item being returned is a plant from the Houseplant Department, it must be properly protected during transport. When temperatures at the time of return are below 10°C, the plant must be wrapped in paper, in the same manner practiced in the store.
- Merchandise purchased in-store can only be returned in-store.
- Merchandise purchased online can be returned in-store for prompt processing
- Only non-live items may be returned by mail.
- For mail-in returns, please email [email protected] to obtain instructions.
- Mail-in returns are subject to additional charges, including shipping fees and processing fees where applicable.
HASSLE-FREE GUARANTEE POLICY
PLANTS
Golden Acre Garden Centre wants you to feel comfortable and confident in your plant purchases. Plants are living things, and sometimes—despite your best efforts—may still fail or die. Don’t worry; we’re here to help. Here’s how our Hassle-Free Plant Guarantee works:
Eligibility for Guarantee
- The original sales receipt must be presented at the time of the guarantee claim.
- Plants from the Houseplants Department are guaranteed for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase.
- Plants from the Perennials Department are guaranteed up to the first frost of the calendar year in which they were purchased.
- Plants from the Treelot Department are guaranteed for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
Processing Guarantee Claims
- Eligible guarantees will be processed as a return and will be refunded to the original form of payment (credit card, debit card, cash, or PayPal)
- Purchases made with a gift card or store credit will be refunded as store credit.
- Golden Acre reserves the right to request valid photo identification for any guarantee claim transaction and require customers to complete a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Form. Plants & Situations Not Eligible for Guarantee
The following plants and situations are considered final sale and are not eligible for guarantee:
- Plants deemed by Golden Acre to be improperly planted, maintained, or cared for, including but not limited to: incorrect planting depth, poor soil conditions, insufficient watering, overwatering, lack of winter protection, or failure to follow care instructions.
- Plants damaged by animals, pests, mechanical damage, or environmental / weather events, including wind, hail, flood, drought, snow, frost, or other acts of nature.
- Annual Department
- All plants, planters, and hanging baskets
- Houseplant Department
- Bonsai, orchids, and flowering plants
- Treelot Department
- Cedars, and yews
- General Gardening Items
- Sod, seeds, and bulbs
- Plants purchased with a discount of 25% or greater.
- Seasonal and/or holiday plants.
- Customized and/or special ordered plants.
How to Process a Guarantee Claim
- Please bring the plant(s) to our in-store Customer Service Desk along with the original sales receipt for prompt processing.
- If the item being returned is a plant from the Houseplant Department, it must be properly protected during transport. When temperatures at the time of return are below 10°C, the plant must be wrapped in paper, in the same manner practiced in the store.
- Plants purchased in-store can only be processed for guarantee in-store.
- Plants purchased online can only be processed for guarantee in-store
- Guarantee claims cannot be processed by phone, email, or mail at this time.
