French Breakfast Radish is a true gourmet treat. The large, oblong radish has an attractive scarlet color and white tip. This cool weather crop is crisp and juicy with a mild sweet flavor you won’t be able to resist.
Growing Radishes from Seed
- Radishes can be grown all season but they’re easiest when sown just after the last frost date and again at the end of summer and into the fall. Seeds should sprout in 5-7 days.
Companion Planting For Radishes - Plant radishes near beans, beets, celeriac, chervil, cucumber, lettuce, mint, parsnip, peas, spinach, squash, and tomatoes.
- Avoid planting near Agastache or potatoes.
- It is said that planting 3 or 4 icicle radishes around the mound where you plant squash, and allowing them to grow and bloom, will prevent most pests of squash and cucumber.
