WEST COAST SEEDS BUSH BEANS STRIKE
Plant Strike bush bean seeds for productive, upright plants with good disease resistance. The pods are round, medium green, slender, and stringless, coming in a concentrated set for easy harvesting.

  • The beans have a very pleasant texture when cooked, and they maintain their flavour after freezing for winter use. Perfect for the home garden, and favoured by large scale producers for their ability to ship and store well.
  • Strike is BCMV and NY15 resistant.
  • Try growing Strike in larger containers like half barrels or even our garden pea and bean grow bags.
  • Matures in 55 days. (Open-pollinated seeds)

    Starting Bush Bean Seeds

  • Direct sow from mid-spring to early summer.
  • Try to plant during a warm, dry spell. Soil must be warm – if it is not warm enough, seeds may rot, especially our untreated seeds. Optimal soil temperature: 21-32°C (70-90°F).
  • Seeds will sprout in 8-16 days, depending on soil conditions.
  • If the weather is too wet, beans can also be started in pots indoors and set out carefully a few weeks later.


    Companion Planting For Beans

  • Beans fix nitrogen in the soil. Plant with Brassicas, carrots, celery, chard, corn, cucumber, eggplant, peas, potatoes, radish, and strawberries.
  • Avoid planting near chives, garlic, leeks, and onions.

    Live Beneficial Insect Notification

    These beneficial insects are dormant and need to stay refrigerated. From pick up you have a 30 minute window to re-refrigerate (Do not Freeze).

    If you cannot re-refrigerate your beneficial insects must be applied as soon as possible, they will not stay dormant.

     

    Calgary Local Delivery Option

    These will not be delivered refrigerated and must be applied the day they are delivered.

    Due to the perishable nature of this product we are unable to deliver live beneficial insects outside of Calgary City Limits.

    How to use

    Mix Ratio: For all houseplants apply 1 teaspoon (4grams) /per 4 Litres (1/4 teaspoon (1gram)/per litre) of water once every week.

    It is highly recommended to start your houseplants on a fertilizer regime, but only while they are actively growing.

     Houseplants tend to have a period of dormancy (normally winter, however poinsettias, Xmas cacti etc. are exceptions to this rule) and whilst dormant they should not be fertilized.

    Caution: Do not exceed the recommended amount. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
